Executive Members

Mr Obinnia Abajue

Obinnia is the Ag. Chief Executive officer Stanbic IBTC Pension Managers Limited, overseeing the Business Operations, Investment, Support and Business Development Divisions, of the Company. He is responsible for the design and implementation of the Company's excellent pension administration and management systems as well as the maintenance of the service quality of the Stanbic IBTC Pensions Solution.

Obinnia was previously Head of Asset Management at Stanbic IBTC Asset Management Limited where he was responsible for managing the investment portfolios of institutional and high net worth individual clients. He holds a B.Sc in Actuarial Science and an MBA degree from Tanaka Business School of Imperial College London. He is a Chartered Accountant, a Chartered Stockbroker, and an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria.

Mr Eric Fajemisin

Mr Eric Fajemisin joined our Company in November 2005 as the Head of the Investment Management and Business Development Division where he was in charge of General Marketing, Development and Implementation of the Business Development strategies of the Company. His functions also included the building and management of regional and nationwide sales team as well as overseeing the market campaign of the Company. His appointment as an Executive Director was confirmed by the National Pension Commission in November 2008 and he is presently the Head the Investment Management as well as the Business Support Divisions of the Company and is responsible for Implementation of Investment Management Strategies of the funds under management and portfolio mix and pricing determination.

Mr Fajemisin holds a B.Sc. Social Sciences combined Honours in politics, philosophy and Economics (PPE) as well as an MBA from the University of Lagos. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Accountants of Nigeria, an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria as well as an Associate Member of the Certified Pension Institute of Nigeria.


Non-Executive Members

Mr. Atedo N. A. Peterside O O N

The founder and Chief Executive Officer of Investment Banking & Trust Company Plc (“IBTC”), Nigeria’s pre-eminent investment banking institution. As a bank entrepreneur, he has overseen the affairs of IBTC since inception in 1989 and has monitored the Bank’s growth from a fledgling institution into one of the most respected, efficient and innovative banks in Nigeria today. A highly experienced investment banker, he has overseen numerous path-breaking financial advisory and capital market assignments undertaken by IBTC. Mr. Peterside is a regular commentator on the Nigerian economy and the domestic financial system.

Mr. Peterside had his secondary school education at King’s College Lagos. He then obtained a B.Sc. degree in Economics from The City University, London and an M.Sc. (also in Economics) from The London School of Economics & Political Science. His executive educational experience is wide and varied and includes the Owner/President Management Programme of the Harvard Business School.

Mr. Peterside was the Chairman of the Committee on Corporate Governance of Public Companies in Nigeria which crafted a Code of Best Practices for Public Companies operating in Nigeria. The Code was published in October 2003. He is a Director of the Nigerian Economic Summit Group and is also a member of the Private Sector Advisory Board set up by the World Bank to assist in setting up a Country Assistance Strategy (CAS) for Nigeria.

Mr. Yinka Sanni

Yinka is the Executive Director in charge of Corporate and Investment Banking Division of Stanbic IBTC Bank. He holds an MBA degree from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife and is a Chartered Stockbroker. He has extensive experience in credit and marketing, corporate finance, asset management and stock broking and has been involved in a number of landmark capital market transactions. Prior to his appointment, Mr. Sanni was the pioneer Managing Director of Stanbic IBTC Pension Managers Limited, unarguably the largest Pension Fund Administrator in Nigeria. He was also the Managing Director of Stanbic IBTC Asset Management Limited, which is Stanbic IBTC Bank's wholly owned asset management subsidiary. Stanbic IBTC Asset Management is one of the largest asset management companies in Nigeria.

He oversaw the growth of Stanbic IBTC Asset Management from start-up status in 1996 to arguably the largest independent professional fund management company in Nigeria. Mr Sanni is therefore experienced at successfully leading a new business. Stanbic IBTC Asset Management Limited is also the Manager of The Stanbic IBTC Nigerian Equity Fund, Nigeria's largest open-ended mutual fund (with a net asset value that is in excess of N20 billion as well as several retirement benefit schemes; the Company has several billions of Naira under its management.

Mallam Ahmed Dasuki

A businessman, Mallam Ahmed Dasuki is the son of the former Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Ibrahim Dasuki. Mallam Dasuki is an Architect by training and is the Executive Chairman of Quaditect Consultants.

Mallam Dasuki is also a Member of Polo Club, Kaduna; Golf Club, Kaduna; National Geographic Society, USA; and National Rifle Association of America. Mallam Ahmed Dasuki serves as Director of MTN Nigeria Communications Ltd and Non Executive Director of Stanbic IBTC Bank.

Mr Ladi Ajose Adeogun

Mr Ajose – Adeogun is a seasoned Legal Practitioner with work experience spanning over 30 years. He is the principal partner of the Law Firm Ladi Ajose – Adeogun & Co. with its core area of practice in Litigation and Commercial Law.

Mrs. Sola David-Borha

Mrs. David-Borha holds an MBA degree from Manchester Business School, United Kingdom. Her executive educational experience includes the Advanced Management Programme of the Harvard Business School. She joined the Board of Stanbic IBTC in July 1994. She is the Deputy Managing Director of Stanbic iBTC Bank Plc. In addition, Mrs. David-Borha is a member of the Nigerian Economic Summit Group.

Mrs Aniola Durosinmi Etti

Mrs. Durosinmi-Etti, Aniola an experienced Lawyer called to the Nigerian Bar in 1982. She holds a Masters degree in Law from the University of Cambridge in England in 1984. Her undergraduate study was at the University of Lagos where she graduated with an LL.B (Second class Upper division) in 1981. She was awarded the prize for the best student in Jurisprudence in her graduating class. She obtained a Barrister-at-Law (B.L) from the Nigerian Law School, Lagos in 1982. She joined Linkage Assurance Plc as Legal Adviser/Head, Corporate Services in 2002. She successfully piloted the company through landmark transformational phases of growth among which were the Initial Public Offer in 2003 and a Public Offer in 2005.

In August 2006, she was appointed the Acting Managing Director of the company. In this capacity, she steered the Company through the challenges of recapitalization and subsequent merger with Central Insurance Company Limited.

Mr. Okey Nwuke

Mr Nwuke has about 16 years experience in finance from working with an international company and leading commercial banks in Nigeria. Mr Nwuke holds a B.Sc. degree in Accountancy from University of Nigeria, Nsukka and an MBA degree from the Birmingham Business School, United Kingdom. He is an Associate of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria and an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria. Mr Nwuke has acquired considerable expertise in credit analysis and bank financial management through professional training as a chartered accountant and from relevant training programmes and on-the-job experience. His key competencies include marketing, negotiation and presentation – skills developed through working as banks’ relationship managers for businesses in various sectors of the economy and ability to work with and coordinate group members to produce desired results. He is currently an Executive Director of Access Bank Plc.

Mr. Chris Newson

A Qualified CAt, Mr. Newson has been with the Standard Bank Group for 16 years. Starting his career in Corporate Finance, Chris then moved to Durban to set up Standard Merchant Bank’s ("SMB") office there. Two years later Standard Corporate Merchant bank ("SCMB") was formed resulting in Mr. Newson taking over the combined SBSA/SMB corporate operations in Durban, the core of which business was corporate banking. In January 1998 he moved back to Johannesburg to take up the position as joint head of SCMB’s Corporate Banking Division and was appointed to Exco.

In January 2000 he was appointed head of Corporate Banking and a year later also took on responsibility for Business On-Line. In 2002, Mr. Newson was the CIB Exco Director with responsibility for Corporate Banking, Global Transactional Banking, CRM and CIB’s Rest of Africa operations. He was promoted to Deputy Chief Executive, Standard Bank Africa in August 2006, whilst continuing to head up Corporate and Investment Banking Africa, he sat on a number of committees within Standard Bank and CIB including Exco’s, Credit, Alco and Country Risk committees. He is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Stanbic IBTC Bank Plc, Nigeria.
